Very nice! Did you have a fire? How is the crop?

Thanks, Jim. Yes we did have a fire. The sickle on my combine had a mechanical problem that started three small fires that quickly took off, since wheat fields burn like newspaper. Approximately 3 acres of stubble burned. We put it out ourselves with the tractor, the combine, half a shovel, our shoes, a bucket, and some of the water in our tank trailer before we broke the fire hose off of it. It was an adrenaline-fueled, three ring circus with heavy machinery. No one was hurt. After the rush wore off and we had our wits about us, we fixed the combine and cut for the rest of the day with no problems.

The crop so far, has been great. A few fields have been the best wheat we have ever cut. Even Gary said he has never cut wheat this good, and he has some experience cutting wheat.
