Duchess and her Chicks.

This may be hard to grasp but the hen in the middle is Duchess, and she is the mother. The other two are her chicks. They would really like to snuggle under her wings, but for obvious reasons this is becoming problematic, so instead they bookend her. Who is snuggling whom? Sometimes, Duchess will sneak away from her chicks and they will call and call, but she will pretend not to hear. She apparently is tired of sharing her food with these stifling giants. I wonder if she suspects we messed with her eggs?
