Date of Service.

Yesterday was the first date of service with the heifers because the new bull is here. Mare and Ella and I picked him up at the Stull Ranch. We ran him through the chute to brand him before bringing him home. He seems happy with his girls, and vice versa.

He didn't much care for the ride in the stock trailer, and angrily paced back and forth until he saw the heifers, then he bellowed. As soon as the gate was open he quickly trotted off to introduce himself. Everyone gathered about and sniffed and shuffled in animal greetings. I drove off to the quonset to put the stock trailer away. I backed it into the ridiculously tight space between the blue Jimmy and the Versatile tractor. It took a few tries.

To be honest, yesterday he seemed more excited to be free to eat the green grass than anything else, but as of this morning he was quite attentive to a few of the gals. He looks resplendent in his Lazy Sixty-nine brand.

And to answer your question, no, we have not yet decided on a name. Enjoy some photos here.

And waht a lovely young man he is! Good luck to the ladies.

As to backing into that space w/ the stock trailer...that is truly amazing.

what a cool site---why, i'd say that it is resplendent!!!!!

also, only people "of a certain age" can really appreciate the talking heads--you and I, my friend are of that age....
