A 3 lb. sledge hammer. A green calf tag. A Crescent wrench. Binoculars. A Tool box with cow and calf tagging paraphernalia. An old lariat. One can of Liquid Wrench lubricant. Two Goldenrod fence stretchers. A Carhartt hat. An axe for breaking ice. A knife sharpener. One sock. A tire gauge. Gum. A brand new, galvanized chicken feeder. Some sunscreen. A handful of fencing staples. A dust mask. The lid off an old grain bin. An axe handle for moving, sorting and protecting myself from cows. A ball of twine. Barbed wire. A spare tire. A ball hitch. And, lastly, a pair of bolt cutters.

Amazing - love seeing your photos again and your beautiful writing!
Sorry about the calf....
I say what Jim said. Your writing always makes me smile, when not laughing audibly. Don't stop.
My previous comments were before perusing the photos. Beautiful.
Can I print the Farmall photo for Simon's room? He's a huge fan.
Jim and Jeff.
Thanks for the kind words, which coming from such talented and funny friends, are high praise indeed.
Jeff, of course you can print the photo for Simon. If you want, I can email you a bigger, higher quality jpeg file. Then it'll be so big and clear you'll be able to smell the leaking hydraulic fluid. Just say the word. And, of course, if you are ever out this way Simon is welcome to take a ride on the old M, as we call her.
Ned
Ned - the photos are breathtaking and completely capture the beauty of Rooster Ranch. Send me that high-res file so I can make an equally beautiful print for you and jeff. I hate to see him get a shitty machine print in Chicago. love, shari
