Chiaroscuro.
It is 5:45 a.m., and Maret is in the midst of her morning chores. Always the first awake, she feeds the cats, gets the horses their grain, pitchforks some hay, and breaks ice if need be. Today, apparently, Duece and the boys are in the corral, so they are getting a few ears of corn with husks as a treat. Then, lastly, she will open the chicken coop and feed the chickens their scratch.
And, yes, the light really did look like that. Chiaroscuro. I'll let you look it up.

Lex, to answer your question, Deuce is the bull. He is very nice. Now I have gotten to the point where I am able to feed him corn by hand. Also, we now have 5 grass fed steers at our house. There is one (#30) that I have "worked with' enough that I can just stand there with the corn in my hand and he will come running!! It is really fun because I can scratch his forehead and his back while he is eating. -Ella :-)
Thats amazing! I wonder if that was how that painting style was invented, someone was trying to recreate that light effect!
